Antaeus Theatre Company
Antaeus Theatre Company describes themself as “theater company that explores and produces timely and timeless works, grounded in our passion for the classics.” The company was founded in 1991 by Dakin Matthews and Lillian Groag with 30 members. Diversifying the Classics
Diversifying the Classics has been directed by Barbara Fuchs, a UCLA Professor, since 2014. They translate, adapt, and perform a wide variety of early modern Spanish plays, specifically the comedia, in an effort to cultivate greater appreciation for the Spanish classics in Los Angeles. Many of their performances have been part of the Golden Tongues Performance Series, taking place during the annual LA Escena Theatre Festival.
